Dulwich
Harps, London U-14 Gaelic football Champions, have just returned from
Birmingham where they successfully
won the U-14 ALL BRITAIN Final 2009. They were up against St. MARYS from Manchester where they comfortably won with a score line of 6-14 - 1-2. This is a wonderful achievement for the South London
club and a SECOND YEAR WINNING A NATIONAL TITLE with many boys representing
numerous ethnic groups. Niall Mc Cann and Michael Donnelly, Sports
teachers and Gaelic football co-ordinators at St. Paul's Academy would like to thank St. Marys of Manchester
for their Sportsmanship regarding this fixture and highlight the
support and appreciation to Tom Denning, Anne McAloon, Pat Winston and
all Dulwich Harps club Officials and Sponsors for their continued
efforts to promote the Gaelic game.
This
magnificent link with several schools in the region has been the
catalyst to becoming a beacon underage Gaelic football club. Through
the assistance of dedicated club members and expertise of the teaching
staff at St. Paul's Academy, students of all ages ranging from 7 - 16
and of all ethnic backgrounds are being coached the skills and are
enjoying the thrills of our native game. Like the senior team, we are
continuously on the lookout for new, keen and talented sportsmen and
women to get involved and experience the success that has been achieved
over the last five years.

It can't get any better. Can it???
The
Girls Under 14 team recently won the London Schools Championship on
Wednesday of last week. The girls team has been running for barely a
year now under the guidance of PE teacher and Dulwich Ladies player
Paula Henry. Paula who is working alongside senior player Dan Mc
Cusker are so impressed with the progress of the girls football and
would like to welcome girls of the local community to get in touch and
join in on their success.
U10, U12 & U14 Boys Training has now came to an end for the season.
We have had a magnificent season of training and games and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all coaching staff and parents and carers or their continued commitment and support throughout the season. See you in February 2010.
How do we manage to consider topping last season?? Well it is going to be extremely difficult but we must start somewhere!!!
Let me take this opportunity to thank all those
who continue to support, sponsor and simply acknowledge our efforts in
promoting our unique game and provide a magnificant sporting activity
for our young, talented, and enthusiastic boys.
It is important to highlight a few whom
without, we would find it extremely difficult to exist. To Tom Denning
for his infectious energy, to Anne Mc Loone and all loyal Dulwich Harps
committee, to Paddy Cowan - Irish World for the continued interest and
investment, to all parents and guardians for their efforts in
maintaining success and finally to the boys for whom this is all for.

The
2007 season got under way so successfully early April on Saturday
mornings with coaches Niall, Paul B. and Oz starting the ball
rolling at 9.30am and worked tirelessly to 11.30am. They continuing
this push throughout June and early July and here we are now reflecting
on what has been the MOST SUSSESSFUL GAELIC FOOTBALL SEASON for DULWICH
HARPS. Not
only is Niall and Paul so pleased at the turn out each Saturday and
during school but the attitude and approach to each session by all the
boys of all ages from 7 - 14 must be commended.
